A Division of PV Thermal Solar
Up to 30 degree tilt sheds snow quickly and clears the ground at 8 inches or 16 inches.
SolarRac2 optimizes panel productivity utilizing a cost effective ground prep using a crushed white limestone base.  The reflectivity from the white limestone surface contributes to a performance increase of approximately 20%.  (See links to reflectivity studies below).
  1. Root rake the site and compact surface
  2. Install GeoTextile matting
  3. Fill with 2 inches of large (one to two inch size) of aggregate limestone
  4. Top with 3 inches of fine limestone
  5. Roll it/compact site
  6. Install SolarRac2 Ground Mount System
312 kW per 1 acre of land, snow-friendly system and 20% more panel power over traditional pole mounted systems!
Labor SAVINGS – no scissor lifts, ladders, cherry pickers, etc.
"Two concretes had much higher average SRs of at least 0.64 (SRI = 78); one contained ordinary portland cement (gray) and a light-colored slag cement with crushed limestone fine aggregate; the other contained white portland cement and fine aggregate from crushed limestone."  Link to Study

The array is slightly elevated in this option allowing for storm water run-off. Typical mega-watt land prep costs approximately .065 cents per watt.

SolarRac2’s ground mounted system is the only ballasted racking solution that can keep panels high enough off the ground in snow prone markets while utilizing the snow’s reflectivity to enhance power production.
